What: Create new prototype interactive exhibits illustrating fundamental math concepts for testing at traveling events.

Parametric Drawing: visitors learn how curves result from coordinating movement of the independent X and Y axes through cooperative play. They may solve a maze (shown), complete a connect the dots, or navigate across Seattle.
Car Packing: a low budget prototype in which visitors use an assortment of pentomino pieces (these are like Tetris shapes) to fully pack suitcases within the trunk of a car. This activity is focused on spatial reasoning and the invariance of area to rotational and translational transformations.
Hinged Figures: a 12’ x 4’ wall graphic on which visitors can rearrange colored rings of magnetized triangles to help create a full color version of the image (see below). In the prototype 4’ x8’ version, we intentionally left extra room for free play in order to test guided vs free play.
